Copyright and fair use.


Copyright is an important topic to discuss and to learn more about. Throughout this week's class, I learned more about the fair use of copyright that could be used in my future classroom. It's essential to be able to provide visual aids for students to use and for them to use for their schoolwork. While doing these images should have the right credentials for the creator of the image to get credit. I believe after this week I will be able to provide this for students to use and teach them how to do it. 


Technology implementation issues


Having technology implementation issues can be difficult to navigate in a classroom. These issues need to be solved; the main one I believe that takes priority in the school setting is the lack of funding. Lack of funding occurs for many different schools in the United States and can impact a student's education. Without funding in schools, students can struggle with being able to have the materials they need in the classroom. A way to be able to fix this issue or provide the most funding possible is to be able to find creative ways to raise money, this involves interacting with the community and creating events to help gain more funding. If the students need more funding, it is also important to get involved with the school leaders to brainstorm other methods to receive funding.

 

Generative AI (e.g., ChatGPT) in classrooms. 

AI has been placed in many school systems today for students to use. Although there are some benefits for AI to be used there are also negatives to using them in the classroom. A negative includes students using AI in a cheating way, it can prevent students from taking responsibility for doing their schoolwork, and students might think it easier to use AI. However, students can also positively use AI to help them learn the material and use it as a study tool instead. It depends on how the students place AI, but as future educators, we should encourage them to use it in the right ways.

 

 Newsletter Design assignment

Completing the newsletter assignment previously this week was quite an engaging assignment to complete. I felt as though the assignment provided me with more information on how to use Microsoft Word creatively. An example was creating the permission slip. I never have done that before, and now I can be able to do that in the future with my class. In the future also, I can improve my new paper by adding more pictures and maybe more items like word art to it.

 Diigo Before taking this course, I have never used Diigo, so this is my first experience with the software. I found Diigo to be a creative tool to connect with other classmates and be able to provide websites that are accurate to the course materials. For instance, being able to post educational software that other people can see gives me an idea about future software to use as an educator. I also found Diigo helpful in staying organized with different websites. Blogging Using Blogging is also a new experience for me. I found Blogger quite challenging at first, but getting used to it during our weekly blog post has helped me become familiar with the software. I have learned how to post a blog, post pictures, and be able to see my classmate's posts. Blogger is a great platform to share your thoughts and be able to post information. My Microsoft Word Experience  Throughout my years of school, I used Microsoft Word for most of my assignments and projects, mainly in my upper level of education. In my experience with Microsoft, I find it quite helpful software to create essays and other lengthy assignments, K-12 my main experience was taking a computer class in the tenth grade and first learning how to use the software. This helped set up my other core knowledge with Microsoft and made it easier for my other classwork. Also using Microsoft Word at FSU has helped me create more types of projects, for example, our newsletter assignment. The only other software I have used in the past is Google Docs, which is also helpful software but doesn't have as many designs or tools as Microsoft has.   ISTE Standard for Educators ISTE is short for International Society for Technology in Education, and it is broken down into five different standards.
