Assignment 5: PowerPoint Interaction: This assignment was quite engaging to complete. For my interactive PowerPoint, I did a Jeopardy game for the fourth grade. While doing this assignment, I incorporate some of the design tools we have learned this semester. For instance, I use CRAP to make a design that uses colors that go along with each side. Although the assignment was time-consuming, I found it a great tool to know what to do as a future educator. I can improve using Microsoft PowerPoint and learn how to use it better. Data Collection Tool: Data collection tools can be used by educators at all grade levels. For instance, using it for older grades like fourth and a subject like math can lead to many different options. I think it is essential to use data collection tools to ask students for their understanding of the subject materials. My experiences in EME2040 My experience throughout this semester in this course has been quite engaging. In class, I enjoy learning different concepts and software to use as an educator in the future. I also enjoy having time in class to work on presentations and assignments, which many classes don't do. As an educator, to improve a classroom, it's essential to have students feel comfortable asking questions and enjoy learning new things. Open educational resources (OER) Open educational resources are helpful to use and have. These resources are published for the public and include a resource that involves education. Open educational resources can be used for classroom and research with no copyright restrictions. OER Commons is a great website that helps find open educational resources based on the criteria you need.   Web Design Assignment Throughout the Web Design Assignment, I focused on using the principles discussed in class and what we have been learning this semester. For instance, I use CRAP, which allows me to make sure the content on my website is readable to the viewers. This assignment was quite interesting due to never making a website before it was challenging to figure out how to use Weebly at first. Although the software was a little difficult to use, I enjoy being creative and coming up with new ideas I can use in a future classroom one day.  Teacher pages A teacher's page on a school website contains information that can be used for students and parents to see. For instance, teachers usually provide a standard biography introducing students and parents to their classroom and providing parents with contact information. Teacher pages often have an attached calendar to their page to help keep students and parents organized with dates and course materials. Teacher pages also contain resources that can help students with certain subjects and have additional help outside class.  Diigo Before taking this course, I have never used Diigo, so this is my first experience with the software. I found Diigo to be a creative tool to connect with other classmates and be able to provide websites that are accurate to the course materials. For instance, being able to post educational software that other people can see gives me an idea about future software to use as an educator. I also found Diigo helpful in staying organized with different websites. Blogging Using Blogging is also a new experience for me. I found Blogger quite challenging at first, but getting used to it during our weekly blog post has helped me become familiar with the software. I have learned how to post a blog, post pictures, and be able to see my classmate's posts. Blogger is a great platform to share your thoughts and be able to post information.
